SPECTRES (UK)
Since escaping the confines of a small seaside town and burrowing themselves into the UK’S DIY scene, Spectres have swelled into an uncompromising beast. Harnessing the negative reactions from baffled crowds, and finding influences in the more depraved bowels of guitar music (Sister- era Sonic Youth, A Place To Bury Strangers’ total sonic annihilation and Royal Trux’s squalid, filthy noise on Twin Infinitives, to name just a few) as well as harsh electronic experimentalism, the band have managed to crossover into territories where noise music is usually never mentioned.
THE LOVE COFFIN (KBH)
The sound of Love Coffin is dark and deadly, they have been sneaking around in the depths of Copenhagen for three years, until suddenly they appeared with a new album "Veranda" in 2015. Pain. Apathy. Isolation. Depression. Anger. These feelings are translated into five dark songs. The bipolar vocals alternate between gentle words of the lost to bitter cry, scratching the bottom of the soul. Western-inspired guitar shapes, reminiscent of dry, abandoned plains This fall they came out with their latest EP Buffalo Thunder.
Prepare to get carried away by the fantastical yet strange melodies of newly formed Myxil. In a mixture of psychedelic whims and rumbling vibes of alternative rock, your ears will be delighted and provoked at the very same time. At their first live appearance at the Band Battle semifinale at Skråen this March, the audience cheerfully chose them as their favourite. Do look forward to their second gig ever in the dim cavern of 1000fryd.
