Spasm Smash XXXOXOX OX and Ass! Trumans Water g�ster endnu engang 1000fryds lumre lokaler. Portland bandet har i over ti �r v�ret bannerf�rere for den sk�ve og kaotiske lo-fi rock, der gjorde f.eks. Pavement til et af de store navne p� de amerikanske og engelske indie charts. Hos Trumans Water har man dog interesseret sig mere for free jazz og bands som MX80 og Captain Beefheart end Beatles og Lou Reed. Trumans Water er eksperimenterende + upr�tenti�st og numrene truer flere gange med at falde helt fra hinanden i dekonstrueret, spastisk k�dhed! Lyder det, som noget du vil g� glip af? Nej, vel? S� kom forbi Kattesundet og st�t op om noget autentisk "indie".

Epikurs Euforie presenterer: Kong knud tager magten tilbage Med Trumans Water (US) & I�m Being Good (UK) Gruppen Epikurs Euforie setter opp sin forestilling "Kong Knud" p� diverse scener rundt om i Danmark. Forestillingen er en filmatisk-musikalsk opplevelse, med stumfilm, filmusikk og live fremf�relse, av Kong Knuds leven og laden. Alle sangene er spesialkomponerte til Kong Knud, og b�rer preg av epeus seregne lyd og fremf�relse. Kong knud f�lger med p� film, men dukker opp ogs� p� fremf�relsen for at lede de musikalske kn�gte til magten i Danmark. Kong Knud er en glemt royalitet, som ved en feiltagelse havnet i Norge. Der har han vokst seg stor og sterk, og sammen med sin kn�gt reiser han tilbage til Moderlandet, for at ta tilbage sin rettmessige trone. Gruppen har i de scenere �r spesialiseret seg p� � blande film og livemusikk sammen til en opplevelse. Med epeu blir det audiovisuelle blandet med billeder og musikernes samspill med lyden p� filmen. Filmene har blidt vist p� oslos st�rste scener, hvor gruppen har opptr�dt sammen bands som The Ruins fra japan og Trumans Water fra USA. Epikurs Euforie har gjestet danmark ved flere tidligere annledninger og har opparbeidet seg en trofast , dog lokal, fanskare, Jylland, og �stlandsomr�det i norge har i flere �r hatt et fruktbart samarbeid. Historikk: Epikurs euforie, eller epeu har arbeidet sammen i mange �r og utgitt plater p� de Norske labels Smalltown supersound og Etch Wear. Tilsammen 6 utgivelser. Alle har blitt godt motatt i presse, s�vel som undergrunnspressen. Epeus besetning har alltid variert og rotert, vilket har resultert i et mylder av forskjellig stilarter og kunstneriske innfaldsvinkler. Utgivelsene har variert fra ren outrock, til samplede lydcollager. Epeu f�lger ingen spesifikk sti, men en tr�d av deres lyd f�lger alltid med.

I�m Being Good:

I�m Being Good at the Spitz, London�01/06/02 Bands like Brighton�s I�m Being Good are the very reason that guitar tunings can be changed. A three-piece with a couple of cleverly modified guitar-cum-basses, IBG play math rock for people who can�t count; odd timings, random stops and dynamic whisper-shouting is order of the evening at a gloriously art-wank BigSmoke night. Guitarist Jussi Brightmore comes across as Jamiroquai possessed by the soul of Krist Novoselic, leaping around and pulling fluid, effortless Rock poses. Mind you, Jay Kay says he doesn�t like to buy records, while these guys have clearly got a pretty wide collection. There�s probably quite a lot of Sebadoh in it; frontman Andrew Clare, himself a spit of Lou Barlow, may have even swallowed one of their earlier rekkids. Indeed, long-jumper-music is so integral to their sound that drummer David Ewan Campbell even uses one to play his snare at one point. But whereas music this Lo-fi is usually such a mess because the band can�t be arsed with an inconvenience like learning to play their instruments, IBG are all exceptional musicians. Complex guitar/bass combo riffs tear the venue apart while Clare swings from quiet introspection to terrifying screams. As the set draws to a close Campbell wanders around his kit, carefully lying pieces on the floor and banging out a quick rhythm before moving onto the next bit. Actually, the sight of the dismantled kit is the first indication in the whole set that a song is ending, what with all those delicious false stops. It�s music to make you think, sure, but it�s also music to make you wanna dance about a bit and go grrr. Being good has never felt so, um, good.

"...we were young at the time, so we stuck with it until it was time for us to play at about midnight, to about 3 people, who, all credit to them, did manage to roll in broken glass at the front of the stage throughout our set. So there was, like 3 or 4 people rolling in glass, some guy in a leather jacket holding a beer maybe about 20 feet back from the stage to the right,, and a couple of Japanese girls dancing somehwere in the middle of the room. It was kinda fun, and we had this huge stage to run around on, so we didn't mind too much. I don't think the venue were too impressed, i guess they were expecting a couple of thousand people or something, which was kinda embarrasing."

"..I'm not sure who decided we'd be an approriate band to round off this particular event, but we did it anyway. The galley was a large space with a floor to ceiling windows along one side, so the acoustic was evil, we sounded nasty. People left, like, about half the room left during the first song. Jack Sargeant guested for one song with a paper bag over his head, screaming about the dream he'd had the night before. No one there really seemed to enjoy our set except for a couple of Japanese girls were dancing. Simon was ill, but played anyway."
