DubAss fr i denne omgang prominente gster p besg. Ud over inhouse DJ'en The Machine (cph), kigger rhusianske dubstep komponisk KARSTEN pFLUM forbi med sprite nye tunes p plakaten.
Velbekomme!
Inspired equally by 80s synth pop, Detroit techno and Nordic folk-music, Karsten Pflum starts playing around with old synths and sequencers in the middle of the 90s using the name of Slaphead Faun. In 2003 he released his first album "Tracks" on the English label Worm Interface (who also released Tom Jenkinson & Solar X) which was soon followed by two EPs and a second full album on the two Danish labels Tender Productions and Jenka Music. Karsten Pflums music has been air-played on BBC by the late John Peel, Mary Anne Hobbs, and Karl Hyde of Underworld.
He has toured in Scandinavia, Germany, UK and Spain, both solo and in different constellations with Bjrn Svin and Monolog among others. In October 2006 he released his 3rd album "Idhax" on Rump, showing a darker and more soulful side of Karsten Pflum.
Being his most "electronic" release to date, "Idhax" shows Karsten Pflum as a creator of twisted yet melodic tracks with an epic quality, exploring the borderland between repetition and rhythmic intricacy.
The press wrote: "This record is wonderful and essential!" (Cuemix Magazine).
What signifies Karsten Pflum's work, from "Tracks" up until today, is his playful and anarchistic approach to making music.
Despite his eclectic way of composing, his sound is always easy to recognize because of the ever present melancholy and warm harmonic atmosphere.
In the fall of 2005, Karsten Pflum began studying electronic music at the Danish music academy.
