The Blank Tapes is Laid-back Breezy Summer Sunny Bonfire-on-the-Beach Rock n Roll with a touch of Beach Boys, Lou Reed and that californian sun. The Blank Tapes is 50s and 60s pop classics with ramshackle warmth with the kind of inspiration and confidence and personality youd think have faded out in 1967. The perfect soundtrack for crusing down the down on a warm summer day!
The Blank Tapes is an ever-evolving californian retro-pop project that revolves around the extremely prolific singer-songwriter Matt Adams. At various times over the 10 years since its inception, it's been everything from a solo act to a nine-piece group, and has wandered up and down the coast from the suburbs in the south to the Bay Area, and back down to L.A.
The Los Angeles based multi-instrumentalist, Matt Adams, has produced over a dozen albums of 1960s inspired surf-pop, folk-rock & soul on Volcom, Burger Records, Antenna Farm, White Noise, and others. Their latest being the psychedelic stoner nugget collection Geodesic Dome Piece on Royal Oakie. Along with his band mates, The Blank Tapes have toured throughout America, Brazil, Europe, & Japan. Matt is also the artist behind his bands posters & album covers.
The New Yorker wrote.... " The Blank Tapes sound like the Archies if Lou Reed had written their songs."... All we can say is spot on!
The Orange Grove fra Kbenhavn spiller californisk inspireret rock. Den slags rock, der trkker p elementer fra folk, pop, blues og psychedelia. Inspirationen trkkes fra bl.a. Grateful Dead, The Eagles og Ryan Adams. Her gives plads til bde melodisk flsomhed og brlende jamrock.
Sekstetten udgav i maj 2015 deres frste fuldlngde vinylalbum "Stare Into The Sun". Dette affdte en rkke debuter bl.a. afspilning p P4 og P5, opvarmning for Natalie Prass i lille Vega og optrden til rets Copenhagen Psych Fest. I december var The Orange Grove arrangr og husorkester til Celebrating 50 Years of Dead med bl.a. Young Flowers Reunion. Den Stora Vilan, Halasan Bazar m.fl.
Eller som britisk online-musikmagasin Musicdash sagde det: The Orange Grove sounded like they would fit right in cruising down Malibu beach to Trestles in the 70s California, with a couple of early Al Merrick-surfboards tied to the roof of a van.
