Throughout the past 40 years, many people have had personal and shared experiences at 1000fryd!
We want to save 1000fryd, because it is full of history and it contributes greatly to the cultural life in Aalborg.
1000fryd welcomes you all to an evening of good, old-fashioned rock music!
MaidaVale is a Swedish, all-female quartet, formed in 2012. They deliver a psychedelic take on blues rock, combining heavy riffs with smooth, spacey jams, drawing from all the greats of 1960's and 1970's rock'n'roll. After spending countless hours in their rehearsal space, they worked their way up through the Stockholm rock clubs to the biggest festivals in their home country.
The band released their debut album Tales of the Wicked West in the summer of 2016 through The Sign Records, and are currently on a month long tour of Europe, bringing them to France, Germany, Belgium... and of course 1000fryd as the final stop!
The four-piece with influences that ranges over decades have created a sound based in the late 60s/early 70s music scene. With a modern take on blues rock the band have captured many audiences with their heavy and psychedelic vibes. A rock solid rhythm section provides lots of space for the blues influenced guitar. Adding Matilda Roths powerful, charismatic vocals and the lyrical themes, political both on a personal level and world-devouring, makes Tales of the Wicked West an album that stands out from recordings made in this day and age
Warming up for MaidaVale are local psych-rockers Queen Acid. Coming straight from 1000fryds own rehearsal room, they deliver psyched out, hard hitting rock'n'roll. Started in Aalborg in the autumn of 2015, they draw upon heavy riffs and 1970's psychedelica in their jam oriented rock'n'roll. The heavy riffs and thunderous drums are carried forward by lead singer Majken, whose voice gives an eerie feel to the bands jam sessions.
