Aalborgs legendariske aktivitetshus og spillested, 1000Fryd, er lukningstruet og har brug for din hjælp! Som følge af en naboklage skal huset gennemgå en massiv renovering, der løber op i flere millioner, og de penge har 1000Fryd ikke.

Stedet har de sidste 40 år haft uvurderlig betydning for Aalborg som by og for alverdens musikalske undergrundsscener både nationalt og internationalt. Det hele er båret oppe af de hundredvis af frivillige ildsjæle, der igennem årene har engageret sig i og udviklet sig med stedet.

1000Fryd er vigtigere end nogensinde og vil gøre alt for at overleve, men vi har brug for din støtte.

Aalborg's legendary activity house and venue, 1000Fryd, is in danger of closing and needs your help! As a result of a neighbor's complaint, the house must undergo a massive renovation that costs several million, and 1000Fryd does not have that money.

For the past 40 years, the place has been of inestimable importance for Aalborg as a city and for many different underground music scenes, both nationally and internationally. All made possible by the hundreds of passionate volunteers who over the years have engaged in and developed with the place.

1000Fryd is more important than ever and will do everything to survive, but we need your support.

After soup kitchen show!

Jeremy Young is an artist and entrepreneurial strategist working predominantly within the flexible borders of sound media. His creative work includes compositions for recording and live performance, reel-to-reel tape collage, sound-poetry and audio-visual scoring. His main interests as a performer lie in the analog treatment of surface-based audio (piezo mic'd objects and surfaces, manipulating tape and tone via texture and voltage), as he is not concerned with what one hears but how it is heard and through what lens. He has performed and released material throughout Europe, Asia, the US, UK and Canada. In 2014, he was awarded a Media Artists' Assistance Grant by Wave Farm (NYSCA) to create 125 unique artist edition double-sided loop pieces towards developing sustainable audience engagement with the sonic arts, housing all the loops online in a freely streamable living archive and commissioning over 120 sound artists to create new work using each singular piece. Young's main sonic project is a collaborative trio with Ian Temple and Jesse Perlstein called Sontag Shogun that makes use of analog sound treatments and nostalgic solo piano compositions in harmony to depict abstract places in our memory. However, Young recently released his debut duo album with cellist/multi-instrumentalist Aaron Martin entitled, A Pulse Passes from Hand to Hand on Chihei Hatakeyama's label White Paddy Mountain. He also performs in a trio with pianist Shinya Sugimoto and 16mm projectionist Joel Schlemowitz as well in a post-Celtic folk duo with Daniel Merrill called Foxout!. Young has shared the stage with notable artists such as Hauschka, Julia Kent, Aki Onda, Matana Roberts, Jason Lescalleet, Aaron Martin, Dead Rat Orchestra, Barn Owl, Sam Shalabi, Alexander Turnquist, Tom Carter, Noveller, Ben Vida & Koen Holtkamp among many others.

Shinya Sugimoto is a composer, pianist and improviser based in Osaka, Japan. He alchemizes samples and improvisational piano phrases into a slow moving polyphonic texture, creating beautifully catastrophic soundscapes. Although largely based on contemporary classical music, his style crosses over immensely broad fields such as Hip Hop and Free jazz. He started his performing career in Brooklyn, New York in 2009. Since then he has been featured worldwide in concerts, art exhibitions, films, and numerous recording projects both as a solo artist and a collaborator. Making his debut solo live performance at ISSUE Project Room, he has shared the stage with improvisors such as Jeremy Young (Sontag Shogun), Andy Couzens, Jerry Gordon, Yangjah Shin, Trever Hagen, Kou Yamamoto (Nous), Alexandre Maubert, Ally Mobbs, sleepland, Keiko Uenishi (o.blaat), Jeremy D. Slater and Kenya Kawaguchi. In 2010 New York Fashion Week, Sugimoto collaborated with Asher Levine, composing music for his runway show. Sugimoto also composed film scores for several independent films with collaborators including multi-award-winning Thai filmmaker Anocha Suwichakornpong. He has released two solo albums and a few collaborative albums from his own label MONKHAUS.

Western Skies Motel is the instrumental project of Danish musician Ren Gonzalez Schelbeck. The music is inspired by the dry winds of the American prairie.
