BEVAR 1000FRYD! (ENGLISH BELOW)

SAVE 1000FRYD!

We have received a request from the municipality, stating that we can no longer play loud music at concerts - this means in practice that we can no longer play livemusic, which is the bedrock of our existence.

The neighboring apartments have bad sound isolation, which is something we warned about, when they constructed it.

Double Feature - Living the Utopia & Utopia on The Horizon

Living the Utopia (Original, 1997: Vivir la utopía. El anarquismo en España) is a documentary film by Juan Gamero. It consists of 30 interviews with surviving activists of the 1936–1939 Spanish Revolution, which are combined with visual materials such as manifestos, photographs, excerpts from film footage, portraits and flamenco music by El Cabrero and Paco del Gastor. The testimony of the anarcho-syndicalists and anarchist militants from the CNT-FAI revealing the constructive work of anarchists in Spain, as well as the amazing educational and cultural activities which lead up to 1936.

Utopia on The Horizon is a documentary on the Greek Debt Crisis. In May 2011, hundreds of thousands of Greeks swarmed into Syntagma Square in Athens to protest against the firesale of their country, their labor rights and their livelihoods to corrupt domestic elites and foreign financial interests.

In a matter of days, a protest camp was set up - organized on the principles of direct democracy, leaderless self-management and mutual aid -- providing a glimpse of utopia in the midst of a devastating financial, political and social crisis. On June 28-29, during a Parliamentary vote on further austerity measures, the state finally responded with brutal force, eventually evicting the protesters from the square and crushing the radical potential of their social experiment.

Background:

Background: The double feature intends to draw parallels between the activists of the CNT-FAI and the anti-austerity movement in Greece and elsewhere in Europe. Discussions after the films will include topics on the philosophies behind the two movements, the success and failures of the CNT-FAI and the lessons which anti-austerity activists can draw from this.
