Den italienske bariton saxofonist Giuseppe Doronzo og aalborggensiske Morten Poulsen (der til lejligheden har bygget en akustisk laptop) mødes for første gang på dansk grund. Duoen arbejder med improvisation på et texturalt niveau, hvor fokus flyttes fra rytmisk momentum til udfoldelser af komplekse soniske miljøer.
Med en forkærlighed for udforskning af klangligt potentiale og grænsesøgende spil fokuserer Giuseppe sin undersøgelse af bariton saxofonen med det mål at udforske et vokabular, der sammenbinder hans baggrund i kontemporær klassisk musik, jazz improvisation og interesse i ikke-vestlig musik.

Morten Poulsen (trommeslager, komponist og lydkunstner) har med sin baggrund i improviseret musik forfulgt en nysgerrighed efter at udforske lyde og vores forhold til dem gennem en bred vifte af formater. Siden 2014 har Morten udgivet flere værker på sit eget pladeselskab Outrovaert, inklusiv det internet-baserede audiovisuelle projekt Dark Web, lavet performances der bryder med det traditionelle koncert-format i serien DADADOIT, optrådt med hjemmebyggede batteri-drevne synthesizere, lavet lydinstallationer som bl.a Sub ved Naturmødet 2018, og ikke mindst er han undervands-trommeslager i Aquasonic. - www.morten-poulsen.dk

The italian baritone saxofonist Giuseppe Doronzo and sound artist Morten Poulsen (who for this occasion will perform on a home made acoustic laptop) meets for the first time on danish ground. The duo improvises on a textural level, where focus is not so much on rhythmic momentum as it is on the exploration of sonically complex environments.
As lover of unexplored space and border crossing sounds, Giuseppe focuses his research on the baritone saxophone, aiming to explore a vocabulary that goes through his background in contemporary classical music, jazz improvisation and his interest for non-western music. Morten Poulsen (drummer, composer and sound artist) has, with a background in improvised music, pursued his interest in sounds and our relation to them, through a wide variety of formats. Since 2014, Morten has released several works through his own record label Outrovaert, including the audiovisual internet-based composition Dark Web, made performances that seek to break with traditional concert formats in the DADADOIT series, build and performed with battery-powered synthesizers of his own making, created sound installations like Sub at The Nature Summit 2018, and not least is he underwater-drummer in Aquasonic. - www.morten-poulsen.dk
